The 500,000 s.f. facility at Joliet, IL, was established by Gateway based on a specific client need. The plant receives, warehouses, abrasive blasts and reships steel plate and parts used in construction equipment assembly.
The Joliet facility is built around two automatic shotblast machines with abrasive recovery and full dust collection:
- Plate Machine
- 123” wide by 10” high x up to 60’-0” long
- Burnt to Shape Machine
- 102” wide by 20” high or 36” wide by 46” high up to 40’-0” long
Created for a just-in-time delivery system serving a Caterpillar assembly
plant as well as providing shotblast service for various steel service
centers, this facility utilizes a state-of-the-art inventory tracking
system for our customers.
